Meet the St Ives Town Deal Board

Members of our Town Deal Board are responsible for advising on the development and delivery of our Town Investment Plan.  They include representatives from business, education, community and voluntary sectors as well as local politicians. Please click to read the St Ives Town Deal Board  terms of reference and to read the code of conduct code of conduct

Libby Buckley

Vice Chair (Private Sector Member) 

Libby is the Director of the Leach Pottery, St Ives Cornwall. Libby was previously the Director of the Telegraph Museum Porthcurno and has had a career working in Museums from Cornwall to the Caribbean. With an MA Honours in Classical Civilisation from Glasgow University and an MA in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester, she has over twenty-three years of experience in the arts and heritage sector.

Andrew Baragwanath 

Chair  (Private Sector Member ) 

Following a short career in the merchant navy, Andrew returned home to St Ives to work in the family business, Ayr Holiday Park.  Andrew has spent over forty years in the tourism business and is a partner in Lusty Glaze Beach in Newquay and previous owner of The Garrack Hotel. 

He is a Vice President of the British Holiday and Home Parks Association and a past chairman of St Ives RFC.

Phil Barnett

Founder and former Chairman of Kidz R Us / St Ives Theatre 

Steve Cross

Private Sector Member and BID representative

Steve owns and runs Cross Estates estate agency. He is active in the town, being a director of St Ives BID, and his family all live locally.

Karen Fielding

Community Member

Karen is a strategic consultant working with fashion, lifestyle and tech brands in Europe and USA.

Having holidayed in St Ives all her life, she was lucky enough to be able to move here full time 6 years ago with her young family.

Karen is grateful to live in such a special community and excited to be able to contribute in a small way to building its future

Councillor Mitchell represents St Ives West Ward at Town level and St Ives West and Towednack Ward at Cornwall Council.

Rowena Swallow

Community Member

Experienced business consultant and programme director for cultural, social, environmental and enterprise projects for the public, private and voluntary sectors; in particular around strategic planning, fundraising, philanthropy and project management. Lives and works in St Ives; Co-Author of St Ives Local Economy Plan and Director of St Ives Workstation CIC.

Member of Parliament

Andrew George is the Member of Parliament for the constituency of St Ives .

Johnnie Wells

Public Sector Member – St Ives Town Council 

Living in Lelant, Johnnie is the St Ives Town Councillor for the Carbis Bay and Lelant Ward, having joined the council in 2020. He lives in Lelant with his family and for the past 10 years has worked for as a project manager specialising in hospitality for a digital branding agency in St Ives. In a previous life Johnnie bodyboarded for the UK and can still be found in the sea at Porthmeor when there’s a wave.

Lynn Fox

Community Member

Lynn brings a wealth of senior management experience from diverse sectors such as banking, live events and retail at local, national and global levels.

Having enjoyed many glorious holidays in St Ives while her family was growing up, Lynn fulfilled her dream of moving to the town three years ago.

She is looking forward to using her skills and passion for the town to make a positive difference in the community and support the town’s economic development.
